The main aims of my work are: to learn about who created McDonald’s; to learn some facts about the history of McDonald’s; to find out if McDonald’s food good or bad for our health; to explore different reasons for its popularity; to analyze and compare the results of the survey which I’ve made among the students of our school.

Слайд 3

History of McDonald’s The long journey of the burger brand started in 1940, when two brothers, Dick and Mac McDonald opened the first McDonald’s restaurant in San Bernardino, California.

Слайд 4

Who created McDonald’s? But a real master of creating an everlasting brand was Ray Kroc, the first businessman to apply the principles of mass production in a service industry. In 1960, Kroc renamed the company as ‘McDonald’s Corporation’.

Слайд 5

The first Soviet restaurant was opened in Moscow in 1990.

Слайд 11

According to the doctors opinions girls between the ages of 9 and 14 should consume 1,600 to 2,200 calories daily, and boys need 1,800 to 2,600 calories every day. Fat My friend’s menu items contain 42g of fat. The recommended amount of fat is 65 g per day . Sodium My friend’s menu items contain 1,190mg of sodium. According to the doctors opinion, the recommended amount of sodium is 1,500 and 2,300 mg per day.

Слайд 12

Why do people like McDonald’s? McDonald’s is convenient. It saves time. It’s everywhere. It is cheap. McDonald’s food tastes good.

Слайд 13

The two golden arches were initially designed to resemble the new arched shaped symbols on the side of the newborn restaurant. Later, the designer of the McDonald’s logo merged the two arches to outline the famed “M” now identified globally. Hence, the McDonald’s logo possesses a simple golden colored “M” which reflects the name of the food chain.

McDonald’s has for decades maintained an extensive advertising campaign. In addition to the usual media (television, radio, and newspaper), the company makes significant use of billboards and signage, sponsors sporting events ranging from Little League to the Olympic Games, and makes coolers of orange drink with their logo available for local events of all kinds. Nonetheless, television has always played a central role in the company’s advertising strategy. To date, McDonald’s has used 23 different slogans in United States advertising, as well as a few other slogans for select countries and regions.
